Valve’s Gabe Newell: Let Fans Finance Game Development

This is why Valve is always on the cutting edge of gaming - they're always thinking outside the box. Basically, Gabe Newell (co-founder, Valve), is suggesting that gamers (consumers) are given the opportunity to finance the games they might like, get a copy of the game, and actually make a return on the game if it sells well. If companies like 2k Games, Valve, Bioware or Bethesda were introducing a new game idea and needed financiers I wouldn't hesitate to jump onboard - and I could make some money on the deal. I would imagine this could also decrease production times and prevent financial limitations some developers run into. It sounds like a great idea and I'm interested to see how this could be incorporated in today's game development process.
