Rod Fergusson, Executive Producer of Gears, provided updated details on unlockable weapon skins for Gears of War 3. In addition to all items unlocked during the Gears 3 MP beta:
- If you buy the custom Gears controller you get the Infected Omega weapon skins (same as if you buy the console)
- If you have the Gears of War 2 Veteran achievement you'll unlock all gold weapons (incl. retro lancer) and a special medal
- If you have the gold Lancer and Hammerburst from Gears 2, they'll transfer to Gears 3
- If you have the Commando achievement from Gears 1, you'll unlock the gold Sawed-Off shotgun
- If you play Gears 3 in the first week following it's launch (week of 20 Sep), you'll unlock the gold Gnasher
To help players earn the Veteran achievement, there will XP events every weekend starting 20 Aug and ending at launch of Gears 3.
