Mark you calendars everyone. Rumor is that Microsoft is set to make a "huge" announcement about the next-gen Xbox console at CES 2010 (10-13 Jan).
An inside source for the French publication Xboxygen has released some details on the specs (again, just a rumor for now):
- hexa-core processor (that's 6 cores!)
- 2GB of DDR3 (currently only 512mb of DDR3)
- Dual-core AMD GPU (currently only a 500mhz, single-core)
The source also states that developers should be receiving the "Xbox 720" devkits before Christmas 2011 and a final version of the console should be released at the end of 2012.
This may all be BS but I just skeet my pants thinking of that kind of horsepower in a console.
