In a blog post on Monday, AMD told developers that if they're interested in Mantle 1.0's functionality, they should focus their attention on DirectX 12 or GLnext. Fortunately, their will be DX12 compatible AMD and Nvidia cards. They're not going to completely kill-off Mantle, but will be more of a niche feature for their partners.
