Nvidia GTX 1080 Benchmark Embargo Lifted - 20-25% Perf Increase Over Titan X For $599

It officially launches on May 27th, but expect supply shortages and prices above MSRP.

Considering the Titan X has more CUDA cores, more ROPs, more Texture Unit processors, larger memory bus interface and higher memory bandwidth, this is damn impressive performance. It's not too surprising though considering this is the first card on a new 16nm FinFET manufacturing process; Nvidia has been using 28nm for almost two years. This is what allows them to push the Pascal GPU core above 2Ghz (Titan X ~ 1.3GHz OC'd) while using 70W less than Titan X.

It's not enough for me to upgrade but it's a great introduction to Nvidia's new Pascal GPU. I'm holding out for future iterations of Pascal that push 4K resolutions above 60Hz with highest in-game settings.

Here's some YouTube links from Digital Foundry showing in-game performance comparisons: 1080p, 1440p, and 2160p (4K).
