As Eureka fans my know, last week SyFy decided to cancel the show after 4.5 years. Then, SyFy exec's promised to give it a full 5th season and 6 episodes for season 6 to allow the show to be properly "wrapped" up. Then, SyFy changed their mind and said there would be no additional 6 episodes for season 6. Now, SyFy has again changed their mind and has given the show one episode for season 6. I'm a big fan of the show and this is unfortunate news, but I have to agree that the writing has become somewhat stale. Hopefully, they give it a good closing.
